The Brighton-based pop-rock songwriter released his debut single in 2020 after four years as a YouTuber, "taking the piss out of other YouTubers' music". His debut album Are We There Yet? followed in 2023, and , album two, later topped the UK chart in 2025.

According to Marriott, this new album is built around what he calls “moment-based” songwriting, those special few seconds in a song that make it feel complete or elevate it. “For a song to latch into my head, there has to be a moment where I think, ‘Oh yeah, this is amazing.’ I can pick out something in every track on the record that gives me that feeling.”

Marriott wrote and recorded after a year of touring. He played Reading & Leeds, Latitude, Lollapalooza, and Electric Picnic, as well as headline shows across the UK, Europe, North America, and Australia. Influences on the LP include Magdalena Bay, Slayyyter, Charli xcx, Underscores, Harry Styles, and Dua Lipa. Marriott describes its sound as anti-pop.
