This is the second time in a week that fans of the continuing dramas will be left disappointed – Thursday 22 October's episodes were shunted to make way for The Pride of Britain Awards 2026.
Luckily, there was an extra episode added in last Sunday to soften the blow.
Unfortunately, that isn't the case tonight (Wednesday 28 October).
ITV1 will broadcast the Carabao Cup Live instead, with coverage of a Liverpool v Chelsea game beginning at 7.30pm. Kick-off is half an hour later.
Mark Pougatch will host the fourth-round match at Anfield, as the teams meet in this competition for the first time since the 2023/24 final.

returns on at its usual time of 8pm, followed by .
There is no extra episode this week, though instalments continue on Friday evening.
The drama in the Dales shows no signs of stopping when the programme returns. Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) is left reeling after Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) was revealed to be Baby Tate's kidnapper.
Meanwhile, at Hotten General Hospital, Kim Tate (Claire King) fears the consequences of her actions as the doctor insists they call the police over DS Thea Ramsden's (Chelsea Edge) stabbing.

Meanwhile, on the cobbles, Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor and Tim Metcalfe) receive an unwelcome surprise. Social worker Ruth (Amy Drake) arrives after being tipped off about the Halloween attack on Lucy Parkinson (Anya Dewin).
Ruth reveals that the teen has been keeping a journal, in which she accuses Sally of being very controlling and saying horrible things about her.
Meanwhile, Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) visits new love Marco Rhodes (Will Teasdale) in prison and assures him that he's got her support, while Carla Connor-Swain (Alison King) clashes with Idris Nazir (Junade Khan).
Emmerdale usually airs weeknights at 8pm and Coronation Street usually airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1. Both can be streamed from 7am that day on ITVX.
