Xbox has another hit on their hands with Gears of War: E-Day, but is the new Gears coming to PS5?
Xbox's approach to exclusives has been confusing, to say the least, with the company flip flopping on whether they want to sell their games on other platforms or not.
While some Xbox games are still coming to PS5, is Gears of War: E-Day? Here's what you need to know.
Is Gears of War: E-Day coming to PS5? What the developers have said
Gears of War: E-Day is not coming to PS5, although at one point, it was supposed to.
Last year, Gears of War: Reloaded, a remaster of the first Gears game, became the first Gears title to make it to PlayStation consoles.
And when Gears of War: E-Day was first announced, it was supposed to be coming to PS5 as well, with the PlayStation logo at one point appearing in a trailer for the game.
But when the full reveal for the game took place in June 2026, it was made clear that the game was to be an Xbox Series X/S console exclusive – it is still available on PC, of course.

The move represents another shift in Xbox's approach to exclusives.
Previously, the company had made a point of putting their games on other consoles to drum up software sales rather than focusing on hardware sales.
But with the next console, Project Nexus, in development and rumoured to breach the $1000 price barrier, Xbox is no doubt looking to ensure players have a strong incentive to purchase the console when it eventually releases.
So, while some Xbox titles like Fable are still set to come to PS5 on launch, Gears of War: E-Day just happens to be one of the first victims of this new era of console wars.
