There Is a Light on the Horizon Line will be Sparke's first new album in four years, following 2022's Hysteria. The album will be released on her new Everwilde Records imprint, with new single "Weird Fish" landing as the second preview of the collection of songs.
"At its heart, 'Weird Fish' is a meditation on the strange intelligence of love," she explains of the track. "How intimacy asks us to shed old patterns and imagine new ways of being together."
Produced by John Parish, the album was recorded in Bristol, where Sparke — now based in California — travelled to work on the record at thirty-three weeks pregnant. Written throughout a period of personal transformation for Sparke, the songs track her experiences of love, motherhood, devotion, memory, identity and the impact of intimacy. With a sound inspired by 1990s alternative rock, There Is a Light on the Horizon Line also features Portishead's Adrian Utley, Seb Rochford and Shahzad Ismaily, alongside longtime collaborator Adam Brisbin.
