Boomtown eh? There’s nothing else quiet like it. CLASH has supported the ever-independent event for over a decade now, dutifully packing out tent and heading to the labyrinthine, ever-evolving site in search of adventure.

Founder and festival legend Luke Mitchell chatted to CLASH writer Andy Hill before this year’s instalment, and he put it plainly: “I urge people to explore all the hidden venues and street venues – that’s where new music comes through straight from the underground. People take risks down there. Don’t spend all your time at the main stages. Get lost in the weirdness, in the depths of the districts.”

From the intricate staging to headline acts, from the bubbly atmosphere of the crowd to an actual, bona fide (partial) eclipse, this year’s instalment of Boomtown was truly magical.
