How to watch The Social Reckoning: Is it streaming?

Mark Zuckerberg is back on the big screen. 16 years after The Social Network, Aaron Sorkin is returning to the world of Facebook for the much-anticipated follow-up The Social Reckoning - this time with Jeremy Strong playing the role of Zuckerberg.

The new film tells the story of Frances Haugen, played by Oscar-winner Mikey Madison, a Facebook engineer who leaked damning internal documents that show the company and its billionaire founder knew how harmful its platform was to society as a whole.

Sorkin revisits Facebook after winning the Oscar for best adapted screenplay for The Social Network, this time also taking over directing duties from David Fincher.

Where Fincher's film focused in on Zuckerberg and his journey to build Facebook, as well as his many, many legal battles along the way, Sorkin's film focuses on Haugen and Wall Street Journal writer Jeff Horwitz who broke the story back in 2021 as well as the ongoing ramifications for Facebook.

The Social Reckoning will be releasing in the UK very shortly. Read on to find out all you need to know about how and where to watch it.

Eisenberg's refusal to join the new film was a surprise to all involved, including Sorkin who had expected the actor to return as Zuckerberg. However, as Eisenberg noted in an interview with Variety, "I just told him I’m moving in different directions in my life, and you know, what he said sums it up nicely. I don’t want to be associated with that character."

While the actor didn't want to revisit the role, he had nothing but nice things to say about Sorkin and the upcoming film, saying, "all of my reasons for not wanting to do the movie have nothing to do with how wonderful the movie is, and will be, and I’m sure is already."
