Helena Deland Announces New Album ‘Eternity Shrugs’

will release her new album ‘Eternity Shrug’ on January 22nd.

The Montreal songwriter is a truly special talent, and Helena Deland signalled her return earlier this year with the warming single ‘How Do You Like Me Now’.

New album ‘Eternity Shrugs’ follows. Out on January 22nd, it’s her first in three years, and sessions found Helena decamping to rural Quebec. Sessions were spaced out in bursts over four seasons, with Helena Deland – who took charge of production – joined by longtime bandmates Francis Ledoux and Alexandre Larin, as well as musicians Lysandre Ménard and Cedric Martel.

Set to play a short UK run in Spring – including EartH in London on March 4th – the songwriter has just shared something new.

Out now, ‘Tip Of My Tongue’ is typically understated, with the organic, almost Baroque arrangement set against the quiet assurance of her vocal. Helena comments…

“I’m thinking of a long-awaited, momentous run-in, the kind that has kept a part of the mind alert. Maybe you need to privately navigate how up-to-date on the other person’s life you’ve remained since the last time you spoke, or maybe you know a former version of them so well that the present-day one feels entirely, surprisingly familiar. The song was arranged with that feeling of familiarity in mind, like something that has been on the tip of my tongue for a long time.”

Tune in now.
