returns with new song ‘How Do You Like Me Now’.

It’s been a while since Helena’s last solo album – ‘Eternity Shrugs’ in 2023, to be exact – but CLASH caught her at a rare solo London show last year.

New song ‘How Do You Like Me Now’ feels like a composite of lyrical sketches, the diaristic intimacy presenting snippets of overheard conversation.

Out now on Chivi Chivi, it’s a fine return – understated but also quietly confident, there’s a subtle beauty to Helena’s work while belies the piercing emotional accuracy of her tone.

Discussing the song, Helena comments…

“I wonder to which extent the authors of posthumously published diaries were writing with a vague audience in mind. Here, I’m convincing myself that a person I admire, very much still alive, has written everything down in their notebook in the hopes of it being found. When that day finally came, they’d say ‘That’s right. There I am. How do you like me now?’”
