Now that we’re in October, spooky season is upon us and to celebrate, Fortnite just dropped an official gameplay trailer for Fortnitemares 2026.
Fortnitemares is a Halloween update that brings multiple collaborations to the game via fun skins, weapons and even bosses to defeat.
And for Fortnitemares 2026, classic characters like Freddy Kruger and Slender Man, animatronics from Five Night’s at Freddy’s, and the cast of The Amazing Digital Circus all seem to make an appearance alongside so many other horror icons.
However, eagle-eyed fans might’ve spotted that characters from the Hazbin Hotel are also in the trailer – but what does this mean? Keep reading to have all your questions answered.

When is Hazbin Hotel coming to Fortnite? Release date speculation
The new Fortnitemares update was launched yesterday to mark the first day of the Halloween season. So, with Hazbin Hotel's appearance in the trailer, we could start to see Hazbin Hotel characters somewhere in the game right now.
The new update comes earlier than last year as 2025’s Fortnitemares started on 9 October, so we have even more time to dissect all this spooky content!
However, with no details in the official gameplay trailer about launch dates for all these crossovers, it is possible that the Hazbin Hotel bundle might be dropped later on into the season – the only way to find out is to get on Fortnite and check out the new update for yourself!

What to expect from Hazbin Hotel in Fortnite?
The Fortnitemares trailer only gave us a few seconds of Hazbin Hotel content. However, these are some of the things we can expect.
The characters that we saw in the brief cameo are Alastor, Charlie and Vaggie, so we should hopefully see a skin for each of them in their classic animated styles.
It appears that Charlie and Alastor are emoting, so we can potentially expect some Hazbin Hotel emotes too! We can also expect classic Fortnite items like pickaxes and back blings in the Hazbin Hotel bundle.
This collaboration has come as a pleasant surprise for many fans, as this crossover was not leaked like The Amazing Digital Circus.
But with Hazbin Hotel’s huge and dedicated fanbase, fans everywhere will surely be hyped about this collab.
