Ellen Pompeo is putting on her scrubs again, as the Grey's Anatomy favourite has been cast as another medical professional in a brand-new drama.
As first reported by Deadline, Pomeo will star in Not a Sound, a new drama which is being developed through 20th Television for Hulu, and is being written by David E Kelley Productions president Matthew Tinker (Big Little Lies) and Annakate Chappell (Tracker).
The series will be based on Heather Gudenkauf’s novel of the same name, and will follow disgraced ER nurse Amelia Winn (Pompeo), who lost her hearing in a devastating hit-and-run.
In the series, she and her loyal service dog discover the murdered body of a former colleague, which pulls Amelia into a deadly mystery that could finally reveal the truth about the accident that changed her life.
Azazel Jacobs is on board as a director, while further cast announcements will likely come in due course.
Pomeo has starred in over 400 episodes of Grey's Anatomy, while she has also crossed over as the character to spin-off series Station 19. She has also been set as an executive producer on a new series in the franchise, which is currently untitled. The show has been ordered straight to series without a pilot, and is set to premiere in 2027.
Recently, she starred in the series Good American Family, while she has also been cast in the pilot of a new comedy-drama, Chicks.
That series will follow Pomeo's character Chickie and estranged half-sister Doreen, who are both struggling to get by when their dad unexpectedly dies. Their only inheritance is a legacy of two-bit crime that inspires them to run increasingly audacious frauds.
