The 29-track mixtape features several guests, including SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE, haloplus+, Full Body 2, Greg Mendez, Hotline TNT, DJ Manny, LUCY (Cooper B. Handy) and more who are signed to They Are Gutting a Body of Water vocalist Doug Dulgarian's label, Julia's War, and follows their 2024 mixtape swanlike (loosies 2020-2023).

Alongside the announcement, they share three new singles from the mixtape, "kool marder (ft. Cashier)", "the rook" and "free willy", as well as a remaster of their previously released collaborative single with Horse Jumper of Love, "charter spec".

Speaking about how the mixtape came to be, Dulgarian says: "When I was growing up one of the best ways to listen to music was to grab a thin jewel case mixtape CD from a convenience store, a thrown together fully unlicensed quilt of all your favorite artists by some local guy producing the beats. As you grabbed whatever you needed from the store, five dollars was never too much for like an hour's worth of music."

"The word mixtape initially meant a homespun tape that you typically listened to yourself or gave to somebody else," he continues. "For me who was born later, it meant mashups of all my favorite artists by local DJs. And so that's what I did with this one, mashups of all my favorite artists. Shoutout DJ WHITEOWL, RIP."
