The band have an international cast, four musicians from different parts of the globe who found one another in London. Emerging from the city’s DIY underground, green star match hazy shoegaze swoon to crunching indie rock aspects.
Citing the likes of Sonic Youth, Swirlies and Yo La Tengo as key influences, green star have played a string of headline show around London and beyond, supporting CLASH favourites such as mary in the junkyard.
New EP ‘silver + dust’ is out now, a bold step forwards. Produced by the band’s Alberto De Torre, it’s marked by their DIY ethics and blossoming sonic ambitions.
EP highlight ‘atomic paradise’ is an enticing mesh of sound, and it comes with a full video, too. green star say of the song:
“The song is about the feeling of slowly losing touch with everything around you — people, places, even yourself. It features a push-and-pull between wanting to escape and knowing that things won’t necessarily feel the same upon return.”
