Richard shared photos from their wedding on over the weekend, before clarifying on today’s (21 September) that he and Stuart had tied the knot in a private ceremony at Hackney Town Hall on Friday (18 September).

Posting a picture of himself in a kilt with his husband, who wore a blue suit, Richard also shared a photo of his black Cockapoo, Clementine, wearing a ribbon around her neck reading, “I do too”.

Richard captioned the post, “The splice of life,” with a ring emoji and was quickly flooded with congratulations from celebrity friends and loved ones in the comments.

Co-host Susanna Reid, star , comedian John Bishop, as well as presenters Amanda Holden and Lorraine Kelly, were just some of those to send their best wishes.

Richard reveals he got married

He told presenters Kate Garraway and Ed Balls: “I got spliced,” before confirming that Stuart was now his husband.

A photo of the couple appeared on screen, with Arnold adding: “That’s myself and my other half Stuart, and now my husband.” They were joined on the day by some of their closest friends from the ’80s and wore clothes from their own wardrobes. “That’s how bad I am at organising these things,” Richard said.

The confusion arose due to Richard and Stuart having kept their relationship private over the years.
