will release new album ‘Airy Fairy’ on April 2nd.
The band recorded the album at a studio close to Airdrie, with songwriter and singer, , working alongside founding members, (guitars) and(bass).
James Allan took the lead on production across the frenetic sessions, and the title refers to an often-heard comment aimed at him by those in his life. He says: “I hated it when people called me ‘airy fairy’, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve recognised it in myself. I’ve learned to accept it.”
Out on April 2nd, the album will be accompanied by an 11-date UK tour, including the Dome in London on May 14th. Tickets for all shows are on sale from via links at www.glasvegas.net.
New single ‘‘ is out now – packed with nervous energy, it’s a statement of intent from the Scottish band.
“The image I have in my head of this song is a guy on a horse with balloon animals tied to the back of it, setting off on a quest,” James explains. “But really, it’s just me. I got the phrase ‘Degüello’ from an old film on TV, and I didn’t immediately connect it to myself, but songwriting can be like that, you start off clueless and you find your way to something. There might have been times when I was depressed, same as angry or nervous, but I wouldn’t have known it at the time. Only when I’ve looked back at a song ten years later and recognised it. It’s almost like leaving a fingerprint.”
Tune in now.
