Gem Stark details debut EP ahead of UK tour

The five-track EP was recorded at CWRW Studios in Carmarthen, Wales, and employs fingerpicked acoustic alongside fiddle, harmonica, and banjo. Stark, who also plays in The Home Service, cites Elliott Smith and Aldous Harding as key influences and says her music will be "especially meaningful to anyone that has cried to the hum of a PAT-failed lamp in a second-hand bookshop within a 30-mile radius of the Peak District."

Two singles have been released so far, including "Thanks a Lot, Joseph Gordon-Levitt", which has an accompanying music video you can check out below.

Stark is a regular at go-to London venues such as George Tavern and the Ivy House. Her autumn tour with Louis O'Hara kicks off 24 October in Burry Port, Wales, before moving through Aberystwyth, Sheffield, Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, and London - where she plays hometown shows at and Morocco Bound Bookshop and The Windmill - before concluding at The Sunflower Lounge in Birmingham. A smaller run follows two weeks later. For most shows, tickets are available through venues or Dice. See full details on her Linktree.
