has shared her new album ‘Amulet’ in full.

Out now via Future Classic, it finds the songwriter – real name Xenya Genovese – building on the radiance of her 2023 debut album ‘I Blow Out Big Candles’.

Built alongside close collaborator Dylan Neustadter, new album ‘Amulet’ merges woozy indie pop aspects with dreamy shoegaze tapestries. At times extremely raw, at others lithe and laced with light, Freak Slug utilises a potent and personal flourish to her lyricism.

Discussing the album, she comments: “’Amulet’ is the most personal work I’ve done so far. It’s about me expressing my spirituality, without shame and owning it confidently, and not having to hide it just cos it’s looked down on…”

“It ties to a past life where I had to keep my healing abilities a secret, and it was dangerous back then, and now I can actually enjoy it in this life because it’s not dangerous to be gifted. Amulet is about my past life as a healer. Now I don’t have to be scared of my own power or hide away from my own power cos I own it, and if someone has a problem with that they can go fuck themself.”
