
"Tongue" follows lead single "Marianne", and arrives alongside a music video directed by John Angus Stewart and filmed by Fontaines D.C. in New York City.
“We continued where left off, leaving the live-band elements until they were really needed,” guitarist Conor Curley of the song’s recording process, which saw bassist Conor Deegan manipulating tape speed — a technique that was often used by Prince — while guitarist Carlos O’Connell ran Grian Chatten's vocals through a sampler, making for a dynamic arrangement from the band.
Fontaines D.C. are looking ahead at a run of live dates coinciding with the release of , beginning on 21 October in Portugal at MEO Arena. The band will continue playing arenas throughout Europe and the United Kingdom, with several dates already sold out. The tour leg will conclude at London's O2 Arena on 27 November, before they hit the road once again in 2027.
