has shared her new EP ‘It All Comes To End’ in full.
The songwriter hails from North West London, and Essence has always used music as a mirror to explore her life, her feelings, and her experiences.
As a kid she was a tennis prodigy, before music came to absorb her every waking moment. Recently supporting CLASH favourite Nectar Woode, a run of singles – ‘Can We All Slow Down’, ‘Please Don’t Wake Me’, ‘Red Velvet’ and ‘A Confession (I’m broke)’ – have seen Essence sketch out a unique identity.
A softly beguiling artist whose honesty is her super-power, the songwriter’s new EP ‘It All Comes To End’ is out now.
A deft, carefully cached document, the release helps Essence channel her feelings. She comments…
“I think for me, ‘It All Comes To End’ just made sense as a title because it’s almost a lesson that I’m trying to learn myself — it all comes to an end, so let’s live! I know these things in my head, but to actually apply the ideas that I’m talking about is another thing. It’s something that I’m working towards — being the front seat driver in my own story, in my own life.”
Tune in now.
