Fearing for the future of her policing career, DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) has made a bold move in Emmerdale.
As viewers will recall, last week, Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) discovered that the copper had been working with her cousin Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) to try to get her grandmother Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) a lesser sentence.
Charity took responsibility for the manslaughter of Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker), when it was actually Sarah who pushed the surgeon to hit her head off the side of a coffee table.
Serena walked in just moments later, and tried to make the incident seem like self-defence. It didn't take long for her best mate Thea to realise what had happened, though Serena agreed to help dig some dirt on her birth mother Kim Tate (Claire King) if she helped her with the Todd predicament.
Sarah hasn't made things easy. She's changed her statement several times, and spent a night in the cells for perverting the course of justice.

Upon realising that her cousin was working with Thea, Sarah boldly announced that she was prepared to go to the police and expose that had happened, in the hope it would free Charity.
Although she holds resentment towards her grandparent for allowing her to raise a child that isn't hers, Sarah has reached a point where she's concerned about whether she'll survive behind bars.
Despite Thea believing that she was bluffing, there was still a risk that Sarah would follow through with her threats.
In today's episode, Serena paid Charity a visit in prison and revealed what had been happening on the outside world. She said that Sarah was making reckless moves that were jeopardising their plot, and that it was now looking increasingly likely that everyone would face the consequences.
Meanwhile, at Hotten Police Station, Thea approached the desk sergeant and asked whether Charity's recent interview had been transcribed.

The sergeant explained that she had too much work to get through, and Thea offered to cover her while she made a cuppa. In her absence, she logged into the computer and placed a USB stick into the drive – to corrupt the files.
Later, Thea delivered the news to her superior that the file was broken and that the IT team couldn't recover it. The superior said that there was probably little point in doing another interview, as Charity's solicitor would just make her respond "no comment".
Thea was reprimanded for not listening back to the recording after it was conducted, though it seems she's got off the hook.
What does this mean for Charity?
