Just days after Jimmy King's (Nick Miles) demise, another Emmerdale resident has perished.
It's been quite the week for the villagers. Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) attempted to flee with ex-hubby Billy (Jay Kontzle) on her wedding day to Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), though had second thoughts upon realising that he'd been working with Caleb Miligan (William Ash) to frame her fiancé for a crime he didn't commit.
Joe the violent and untrustworthy man that she'd been led to believe.
Upon returning to the marquee on the Home Farm Estate, Dawn pledged her allegiance to him, hoping that he would go ahead with the ceremony. Just seconds later, Jimmy's car plowed through the side of the tent, causing mass destruction.
Very sadly, he passed away while talking to wife Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) about their vow renewal plans.
Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) rushed in to save Joe, who amazingly surprised the explosion that followed. But the drama was far from over.
In hospital, Dawn gave birth prematurely, and it was clear that she and Joe weren't out of the woods just yet.
In today's episode, the happy couple lay in bed together, admiring their son and thinking about what their new life may look like. When Joe left the room to get some water, there was a blood stain on the sheets.
He then collapsed in the corridor, and upon regaining consciousness, failed to tell a member of staff about his declining health. Joe then returned to Dawn's room, where it appeared that she'd fallen asleep.
However, when he tried to wake her, it became apparent that she'd died.
When news reached the village, Caleb and wife Ruby (Beth Cordingly) were on the receiving end of Billy's distress, while Nicola feared that her neighbours' memory of Jimmy would be permanently altered.
With the circumstances surrounding his crash still unknown, she worried that he was to blame for the two deaths.
But who was responsible?
