“The Snake You Built” follows previous singles “Psaltery” and “The Account” featuring the wind between. The track features drums from Lee Buford of The Body, strings from Diana Miron, and bass from Liam Andrews of Big Brave and My Disco.

Speaking about the track, Dis Fig explains: “For most of this record, I was quite intentional with lyrics. But this one beamed out differently. Rather than writing lyrics to replace the original take, I used my own kind of language, dictated by emotion rather than fitting meaning to what could not be expressed in linguistic form.”
