Deep Purple Postpone European Tour Following Ian Gillan Health Emergency

have been forced to postpone the remaining dates on their European tour.

The legendary hard rock group returned this year, with the sprightly full length ‘SPLAT!’ turning the volume up once more. Rapturously received by fans, Deep Purple tapped back in to their roots for a record that would match the energy of band’s a quarter of their age.

Hitting the road, reports from the band’s latest tour have been positive, but over the weekend frontman Ian Gillan suffered a health emergency in Leipzig.

In a new update, Deep Purple thank fans for their patience, before confirming that all remaining dates on the tour have been postponed.

The band write:

Thank you for all the good wishes and support over the last few days…it means the world.

I had a medical problem whilst in Leipzig which required urgent attention at the hospital.

I was hoping that I would get the all-clear to hang on until the end of the tour, but there are very serious risks involved in me doing so.

As a result, and on the advice of my medical team and management, we have made the decision to postpone the rest of the European/UK 2026 tour until further notice.

I’m very sorry about any inconvenience this may cause, but it’s in the best interest all round.

Thank you for your understanding.
