– the project of Baltimore-based artist – will release his new album ‘Love’s Arp’ on November 6th.

His debut on True Panther, ‘Love’s Arp’ is a 12-track collection of woozy devotionals bridging traditional East African rhythms, the spiritual fervour of vintage gospel, and DIY sound design inspired by modern house and techno.

It’s a record about predicated around love. The experience gets knottier as it unfolds, mirroring Dawuna’s understanding of the concept of love’s complexities.

To flesh out the mixes and give them a higher-fidelity sheen, Dawuna roped in Motion Graphics’ Joe Williams, who helped beef up the synth sounds and dial in the mix before passing the record to Heba Kadry (Björk, Sade, Gorillaz, Mk.gee) for mastering.

As a prelude, Dawuna shares lead single ‘Love’s Ekongo’, an intricate, lattice-like blend of organic and synthetic textures. Over syncopated drums and shimmering thumb piano, Dawuna casts new love as an unpredictable, elemental phenomenon.

‘Love’s Arp’ follows 2021 LP ‘Glass Lit Dream’, 2024’s ‘Naya’ and recently released mixtape ‘African Family Laptop Musick’, which heralded Dawuna’s return to music.
