Following the news that David Tennant and Anjli Mohindra will be starring together in three new Big Finish audio adventures for Doctor Who, reprising their roles as the Tenth Doctor and Sarah Jane Adventures favourite Rani Chandra, Tennant has now opened up about what fans can expect from the first story.
Speaking in an interview with the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine, Tennant said that the first episode, titled The Hidden, is "quite high-concept", calling it "a clever bit of writing".
"A script like this needs a broad, shifting fantastical canvas - you'd need quite a budget to do this on the telly," Tennant said. "As it starts, it feels a bit like an old-school Doctor and UNIT story where the Doctor is going to meet some Earth scientist who's doing something he positively disagrees with, but actually in the end that initial human with a plan becomes -"
The quote cut off at that point, with fans having to wait and listen to the audio adventures to find out more.

Speaking about the new audio adventures when they were first announced, producer and script editor Matt Fitton said in a statement: "The Tenth Doctor and Rani Chandra feels like a TARDIS team that was always meant to happen! United by their love for Sarah Jane Smith, it's only fitting that Rani gets to follow in the footsteps of her mentor and venture out into time and space.
"She runs into the Doctor in Cumbria as she investigates sightings of strange creatures for a potential podcast – I wonder what happens with that? – and is soon whisked away to amazing adventures.
