A first-look teaser trailer for Netflix's return to Night City, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, has been confirmed following up on its acclaimed anime from 2022.
The new series will premiere on 20 October 2026, and will act as a new, standalone 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077.
The synopsis has described it as "a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge", before adding: "In a city that thrives in the spotlight of violence, one question remains: when the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter?"

The central new characters who will be focused on include Roman Carax, Talia Yang, D and Weak Kingsley, replacing the first series's doomed crew including David and Lucy.
Roman Carax is described as a young cinephile searching for real stories in a city that has largely abandoned cinema for brain dances.
Meanwhile, Talia Yang comes from the corpo towers, but has been shaped by Maelstrom culture, while D is a Snake Nation Netrunner who is driven by revenge after the killing of his clan, and Weak Kingsley is a veteran Edgerunner who was once known as “King”, but now lives in the shadow of his former reputation.

Like its predecessor, Edgerunners 2 is produced by Japan's Studio Trigger in collaboration with CD Projekt Red, the studio behind the Cyberpunk 2077 game that the anime is based on.
This time, the series is directed by Kai Ikarashi, who worked on the original Edgerunners and is making his directorial debut on the sequel.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is available to watch on Netflix from 20 October 2026. You can sign up to Netflix from £5.99 a month. Netflix is also available on Sky TV and Virgin Media.
