Fans now don't need to wait long for a return to Night City as a first look sneak peek of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 has dropped ahead of its approaching release date.
Spinning off from the videogame Cyberpunk 2077, the Netflix anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners premiered in 2022 and was originally marketed as a standalone, but due to its popularity was renewed last year for a second season.
Season one followed the adventures of a young student named David Martinez, who became an Edgerunner (a type of cyberpunk mercenary) in the futuristic underworld of Night City.
The new series, however, will act as a new standalone 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077 and will premiere on 20 October 2026.

The synopsis reads: "A raw chronicle of redemption and revenge. In a city that thrives in the spotlight of violence, one question remains: when the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter?"
The trailer released yesterday gives fans a glimpse at the all new characters Roman Carax, Talia Yang, D and Weak Kingsley who have replaced the first series's doomed crew, including David and Lucy.
The one-minute 17-second long clip begins by immediately throwing the viewer into the action as three of the protagonists desperately try to escape a quickly shutting down unit, exclaiming: "Is something wrong?!"

Fans are then introduced to another of the characters who is witnessing an explosion from afar as the unit goes up in flames.
The new season will star Clancy Brown, Valeria Rodriguez, Kimoy Lee and Nazeeh Tarsha as its lead English dub voice actors.
Edgerunners 2 is produced by Japan's Studio Trigger in collaboration with CD Projekt Red, the studio behind the Cyberpunk 2077 game.
The series is directed by Kai Ikarashi, who worked on the original Edgerunners and is making his directorial debut on the sequel.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is available to watch on Netflix from 20 October 2026. You can sign up to Netflix from £5.99 a month. Netflix is also available on Sky TV and Virgin Media.
