Cristale Releases Debut Mixtape ‘Clear Intentions’

Brixton-born rapper takes control of her narrative on her 10-track debut mixtape, out today.

MOBO-nominated artist Cristale has marked a major milestone with the release of her debut mixtape, ‘Clear Intentions’. Out today, the South London rapper and actress launches the project following the release of five singles included on the mixtape.

Across ten tracks, ‘Clear Intentions’ balances confident lyricism with a more vulnerable exploration of personal experiences. Having previously worked with Young Chencs, Sphero and Ferno, Cristale also takes a hands-on approach to production, demonstrating greater creative control over her sound.

Cristale often mentions her experiences as an actress in tracks like ‘How Will I Know?’ – she has appeared in Top Boy (2023) and Queenie (2024) as well as the 2023 film The Kitchen.

The mixtape opens with ‘No Harm’, while other highlights include ‘Mario’, which adopts a gritty yet playful sound through its Nintendo references. Elsewhere, piano-led ‘Never Leave Me’ offers a more sombre perspective, while lead single ‘I’m Okay With Being Lonely’ pairs guitar melodies with introspective reflections on isolation.

The release follows Cristale’s COLORS debut, where she performed ‘H2O’, a track from the mixtape, in a stripped-back session.
