Beth Nixon is reprising her Megan Walsh role in Coronation Street.
Earlier this year, the villain was found guilty of all charges relating to her grooming and abuse of cobbles teenager Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale). The storyline kicked off in November, though pre-dated the Driscolls' arrival in Weatherfield.
After months of concealing their affair, Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) exposed the truth. Unfortunately, with Will denying everything that happened – and with zero evidence – the police were unable to pursue the case any further.
Later, Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) managed to make a breakthrough with the teen, speaking with him about his own childhood abuse. Will then felt brave enough to report Megan's behaviour. He was clearly worried about saying the wrong thing, and a message delivered by Megan's mum Janine (Melissa Jaques) was ringing through his head.
She'd told him that it was clear Megan deeply loved him, and that she's now thrown everything away for a prison sentence.
In the courtroom, his prerecorded statement played out, and then he faced tough questioning from the barrister. Megan glanced across towards him, and feeling pressured, he said that there was no sexual relationship between him and that the whole ordeal had been fabricated.
Eventually, after a change of heart and admission that Janine had tried to influence him, Will came clean and she was sent down.
However, Digital Spy is now reporting that Walsh is back on set and filming new scenes for the ITV soap.
A source told the publication: "Will has been trying to get his life back on track after everything that Megan did. Whether he's the one who comes face-to-face with her, or whether someone from his family will be interacting with Megan remains to be seen.
"Bosses were impressed by Beth's work on the big storyline so it's no surprise to see her back so soon."
Radio Times understands that Walsh is set to return, though given the character's sentencing, scenes will be set from the confines of the Norcross Prison.
