Coronation Street airs yet another dangerous Jodie Ramsey move in early ITVX release

Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown) has continued to torment sister Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) in Coronation Street.

Since her arrival in January, the character has proved to be quite the enigma. From her kleptomaniac tendencies, taking a number of bizarre items – including a picture of Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove) and a book belonging to Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) – to trying to seduce brother-in-law David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), it's clear that she's deeply troubled.

At one point she even took a gun belonging to wannabe gangster Fiona Morley (Sara Poyzer), and threatened some school children with it.

It seems that Jodie's behaviour stems from the fact that Shona has had what she perceives as a wonderful life, while she was left to care for their unwell father.

Over the last few weeks, since Shona's daughter Harper returned home after months in hospital, she's played the doting auntie and tried to ensure that her sister wasn't without childcare.

However, it soon became clear that this was part of a wider plan to make it seem like Shona was incapable, therefore driving a wedge between her and David.

Yesterday, an exhausted Shona began preparing a cake for stepdaughter Lily Platt's (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) bake sale, and when it burnt, she quickly took the batteries out of the smoke detector so not to wake Harper and nodded off on the sofa.

Jodie slipped into the house and placed the cake back into the oven, allowing smoke to flood through the house. Poor Shona had no idea what had happened, and Jodie was more than happy to see David witnessing her confusion.

In today's episode, she executed a potentially dangerous move.

Shona had prepared a bath for Harper, and when she nipped upstairs to grab the infant, Jodie boiled the kettle. David came in from the garden and clocked the steam rising, and scalded his hand.

He shouted out at Shona, saying that it was irresponsible and that Harper could have been hurt.

However, Jodie's plan backfired. He suggested that Jodie take some responsibility for the child's care moving forward, and while she was initially happy with this, the idea was that while she undertook her duties, David could spend more time with Shona relaxing.

That night, with Shona resting, Jodie recorded Harper crying on her phone.

What will her next move be?
