Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown) made yet another calculating move in Wednesday's (9 September 2026) Coronation Street.
Having persuaded Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) to go on a few dates recently, Jodie has been messaging him in the hope of more.
But Kit has instead had a fling with Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon), daughter of his ex-girlfriend Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien), who is currently awaiting trial for murder.
The police detective has also been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer earlier this week, and has only confided in Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) so far.
Amid the awkward living situation with Bethany, Kit revealed he was looking at flats so he could move out.
He and Bethany arranged to talk properly later, and she headed to the Platt residence where her uncle David (Jack P Shepherd) had returned from visiting Gail (Helen Worth) in France.
David took wife Shona (Julia Goulding) for a meal and after hearing about Jodie and Kit, ended up comically pondering why the man was working his way through the women in David's family.
Imagine the reaction if David knew about Bethany!
At the house, Jodie was left smarting from a voice note from Kit, which gently explained that he wasn't up for a relationship right now.
When Jodie made a cutting comment about Sarah, Bethany pointed out that Jodie shouldn't even be living there after her previous violent attack on Sarah.
Clearly out to get payback on both Bethany and Kit, Jodie let herself into the flat and helped herself to their things.
Meanwhile, in the Rovers, Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield) literally bumped into Kit, unknowingly causing Kit some pain in his chest area.
When Ross accused Kit of being too soft, Kit punched him and Ross threatened to report him and destroy his career.
A concerned Todd overheard, and managed to smooth things over with Ross.
Having witnessed the altercation, Bethany admonished Kit and the pair arrived home, where Jodie hid out of sight and listened in as they freely discussed their one-night stand and what a big mistake it was!
Oblivious to Jodie's presence, Kit returned to the pub and thanked Todd for helping with Ross, though still kept him at arm's length regarding his illness.
Back at the Platts', Jodie secretly played a recording of Bethany and Kit's conversation.
