will release new album ‘What Kind Of Hell Did You Survive?’ on January 29th.
The band have built a stellar reputation across 17 years, fusing indie rock with shards of other adjacent genres. New album ‘What Kind Of Hell Did You Survive?’ is perhaps their biggest challenge yet, a nine-song journey that finds Cloud Nothings moving into heavy landscapes.
Out on January 29th – – the album is an intense experience, with Cloud Nothings channelling some darker emotions.
New single ‘Death Keeps Me Alive’ is stellar, a visceral, pulse-racing journey into heavier climes.
The metallic impact of the guitars lurches out of the speakers, with Cloud Nothings producing a chest-rattling impact.
Introducing the song, the band comment…
“Lyrically ‘Death Keeps Me Alive’ is from the point of view of a lurking evil power that never gets fully defeated in the world and feeds off of death, war and hate, which is kind of a fun generically ‘metal’ thing to sing about. I hope people hear this song and get excited for what the rest of the record could possibly sound like, and recognise that this is going to be a new version of Cloud Nothings that didn’t really have a precedent prior to this recording.”
