Netflix has confirmed that Clive Owen will join Anya Taylor-Joy in its television adaptation of Bella Mackie's bestselling revenge novel How To Kill Your Family.
The news was revealed as part of the streamer's new UK slate unveiled at the Edinburgh TV Festival this week.
Owen joins the eight-episode series alongside Orlando Norman and David Shields, rounding out the cast led by Taylor-Joy as anti-heroine Grace Bernard. The series is produced by Sid Gentle Films, the company behind Killing Eve, with Taylor-Joy also executive producing through her LadyKiller banner.
Whilst Netflix hasn't yet confirmed a release date, we do know that filming is due to kick off later this year in autumn.
The drama is based on Mackie's 2021 debut, a number-one Sunday Times bestseller, which follows Grace Bernard, the overlooked daughter of billionaire social climber Simon Artemis. Born of an affair her father claims not to remember, Grace is left with her mother to fend for themselves.
But when her mother dies and Grace is rejected by the people who should love her, she sets about killing off her estranged extended family through morbidly creative means, clawing her way towards both revenge and a hefty inheritance.
On the previous announcement of Taylor-Joy in the lead role, author Mackie had praised her as the "most perfect fit" for Grace.

Netflix describes the series as "the ultimate tale of revenge. Ambitious in scale, beautiful, filmic, and murderous." The streamer adds that Grace is "a modern day Gatsby, a Tom Ripley," playing dirty because "the game isn't fair," with the money "a nice bonus".
Owen has more recently starred in Sam Spade drama Monsieur Spade, as well as A Murder at the End of the World, Impeachment: American Crime Story and Lisey's Story. His new role in How To Kill Your Family does mark a return to TV though, which fans of his will no doubt be excited about.
How To Kill Your Family was announced as part of a wide-ranging UK commissioning slate that also includes The Unheard, starring Kate Winslet and Maxine Peake, two Top Boy spin-offs featuring Barry Keoghan and Jasmine Jobson, and a new comedy from Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee.
