Chicago Fire has recruited another new firefighter ahead of season 15, with Matthew Daddario joining the long-running NBC drama as it prepares for a significant reshuffle both on and off screen.
Daddario, best known as Alec Lightwood across all three seasons of Shadowhunters, is set to appear as a firefighter candidate, Deadline reports, although the finer details of his character are still under wraps.
His arrival was teased on social media by fellow newcomer Da'Vinchi, who shared a set photo alongside Daddario and Brandon Larracuente, who plays Vasquez, sitting on Truck 81.
Da'Vinchi has been cast as a series regular, Marcus Burke, another firehouse candidate described as roguish and a little defiant.

The fresh faces arrive during a period of change at Firehouse 51. Victor Teran takes over as showrunner and executive producer for season 15, following the departure of Andrea Newman after 14 seasons.
More recently, it's also been announced that Dermot Mulroney, who has starred as Battalion Chief Dominic "Dom" Pascal since season 13, will be leaving the series in the upcoming 15th season.
That news came just one week after it was also confirmed that actor Joe Miñoso would be leaving the series, after being a beloved character on the show since its inception.
No details on either character's final storylines or exit plots have been unveiled, with fans naturally keen to see what will become of the pair.

The drama, which hails from Dick Wolf's Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television, follows the professional and personal lives of the firefighters, rescuers and paramedics of Firehouse 51 in Chicago.
There is no full logline for the new season yet, but season 14 left plenty hanging. The finale saw former Chief Pascal (Mulroney) return to discuss Severide's professional future, only for the moment to be cut short by an emergency call to a storage-facility fire, ending on a cliffhanger boom before the screen cut to black.
Taylor Kinney is confirmed to return as Kelly Severide, with Miranda Rae Mayo also back as Stella Kidd. Season 15 is expected to premiere in the US on NBC on Wednesday 7 October 2026, with episodes streaming the next day on Peacock.
