123 follows Astrønne's 2022 album , as well as a series of single releases, which included a cover of Talking Heads' "Psycho Killer". "1, 2" lands as the first preview of the EP, and is described as a track that asserts a desire for self-determination.
Splitting time between Paris and London, Astrønne draws on experimental R&B, folk, hip-hop, glitch and sound therapy. "TRUTH HURTS, TRUTH SAVES, LOVE HEALS," says Astrønne of the work. "123 EP is an introduction to this theory of mine" she adds, describing it as "the 'ready steady go' of my redefinitions and self-actualization as an artist and human being."
Having performed headline shows in Paris, Amsterdam, Belgium and Switzerland, alongside a French theatre tour supporting Keziah Jones, including two sold-out shows at La Seine Musicale with appearances at Brick Lane Jazz Festival and Le Guess Who?, Astrønne is now looking ahead at a 2027 tour following the EP's release, with more details to be revealed.
