Only Murders in the Building season 6 is shaping up to be an unofficial Broadchurch reunion, with Olivia Colman joining David Tennant in the cast.
The Oscar-winning actress will feature as a guest star in the upcoming instalment of the hit Disney+ comedy, which follows a trio of amateur sleuths who solve murders that take place in their New York apartment building, though season 6 will be set in London.
The casting news was revealed in a post on the show’s official Instagram account on Tuesday (18 August).
“We have had so many amazing guest stars for ‘Only Murders’ in London,” Gomez - who plays Mabel Mora in the series - says. “Yeah, but we’re just missing one!” Meryl Streep adds, as Colman appears in the video in character.

Season 6 will prove to be a reunion of sorts for other actors too, as alongside Tennant, other Doctor Who icons Peter Capaldi and Jodie Whittaker have also been cast in recurring guest roles.
Other British guest stars announced for the upcoming season include Sharon Horgan, Martin Freeman, Jim Broadbent, Jennifer Saunders, Geri Halliwell, Nicola Coughlan, Sean Teale, Simone Ashley and Rhea Norwood.
Richard Ayoade, Amar Chadha-Patel and Matthew Beard are also set to appear alongside Jamie Demetriou, Anjana Vasan, Jane Horrocks, Derek Jacobi, Adrian Lukis, Kathryn Hunter and Lesley Nicol.
The plot for Only Murders in the Building season 6 is yet to be unveiled, but we do know that it will follow Gomez's Mabel, Steve Martin's Charles and Martin Short's Oliver as they venture overseas for the first time, leaving New York City to investigate a new mystery in London.
