The electronic evergreen will release his new album ‘Distance In Static’ on September 11th, and it contains a number of potent collaborations.

Nicole Miglis is an old friend, and the pair obviously communicate on one another’s creative wavelength.

New single ‘Talk To Me’ originates from a demo recorded back in 2023, taken from sessions embarked on in the aftermath of his ‘Fragments’ album.

‘Talk To Me’ morphed into something striking – Bonobo’s painterly aspects are brought to vivid fruition, the sonic detail displaying his depth of experience. , too, is exceptionally assured, with the soulful touches in her vocal illuminating the darkness moments of the songwriting.

Bonobo comments…

“The choral sound that it starts with, the sort of reverb of ‘ooh’ and ‘ahs’. That’s me and Nicole in a backstage corridor in Vienna on the ‘Fragments’ tour. She was doing her vocal warm-ups and I just sort of interrupted her by joining in and harmonizing and recording it on my phone. You can actually hear our tour manager in the background shouting ’10 minutes’. It’s all still in the recording used on the record. I made the original version in a backstage green room, and also in a hotel room in Milan – it was called Milano for ages – and then finished on the tour bus over the next few days. It was something that existed in demo form for a few years.”
