The BBC has confirmed it will close BBC Three, BBC Scotland and BBC Radio 4 Extra linear broadcast services in spring 2027.
The move comes as the corporation faces pressure to make savings of £500 million by 2028, with previous cuts across the BBC already having been revealed.
In addition, about 100 jobs will also be axed at BBC News, while the channel closures will result in further job losses, including 10 in Scotland.
As part of the changes, which were announced to staff on Tuesday morning (20 October), BBC Scotland will remain a channel on iPlayer, but will no longer be a broadcast channel on television. Content will also be available on BBC One and BBC Two in Scotland.
BBC Three commissions, which attract younger audiences, will be available on BBC iPlayer and on other platforms, including YouTube.

BBC Three was previously cut from linear TV in 2016 and moved online, before returning to TV screens in 2022.
The channel has since brought a string of hits to our screens, including Killing Eve and Fleabag.
Programmes from Radio 4 Extra will be available on BBC Sounds, and The Daily Service will be on BBC Sounds and local radio.
In a note to staff explaining the changes, BBC Director-General Matt Brittin said: "We need to make every pound work harder for audiences as we respond to the immediate cost pressures and reinvent the BBC for a changing world. We all know that means tough choices."
He said on the closure of linear broadcast services: "Much of the great content they currently carry will still be found where audiences already enjoy it on iPlayer and Sounds. While this follows media speculation, I recognise the confirmation of this news will be hard for audiences and colleagues."

It was announced separately that BBC News would be axing 100 jobs.
New BBC News director Rachel Jupp announced the news via an internal email, which read: "I know this will be very difficult news for those affected. We will continue to work closely with colleagues and trade unions throughout the consultation process and will do everything we can to minimise the need for compulsory redundancies."
She added: "Colleagues affected by today’s proposals have already been informed."
Jupp also warned that further saving measures were to come early in 2027.
The BBC is aiming to cut between 1800 and 2000 jobs - almost one in 10 - overall, with roughly 550 job closures having already been announced in News and more than 30 having been axed from BBC Sport.
The saving measures have also resulted in the cancellation of several hit TV shows, including RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, Blankety Blank, Celebrity Mastermind and DIY SOS.

Last week, the corporation cancelled plans to build a purpose-built studio to record The Archers at its new Birmingham headquarters.
The decision raises questions over whether the drama could be made outside the city for the first time in its 75-year history.
