Auckland band have shared their new song ‘BedHead’.

The group are helmed by two brothers – Henry and Pierre Beasley – who have seen their life change entirely in the space of 18 months.

Debut album ‘Portal’ became a global breakout moment on its 2025 release, with Balu Brigada hurling themselves into a whirlwind touring routine.

Somehow, they kept their heads above water, and those experiences fuel the band’s new single.

Out now, ‘BedHead’ is a wicked pop song, but it’s also a reflection on what happens when your dreams come true. There’s a wistful side to it, a feeling of acceptance, alongside the thrilling tempo.

“‘BedHead’ is about trading sleep for a dream,” say the brothers. “It’s being aware of all the hurts and heartaches that inevitably come from pursuing a passion project, and deciding it’s worth doing anyway. Written after the busiest year of our lives, ‘BedHead’ bittersweetly details the sacrifices we make to relationships, sleep, and home life, and comes to the conclusion that we wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m g-g-g-good with that.”
