Diane Morgan’s hilarious historian Philomena Cunk is officially coming back to our screens – and is taking on the silver screen in her new series Cunk on Cinema .
The BBC has confirmed that the upcoming series, which will see the hapless and blunt documentarian navigate Hollywood and the film industry, is coming in November.
Cunk on Cinema will air on Thursday 12 November at 10pm on BBC Two.
All three episodes will also be available to watch as a boxset on BBC iPlayer on the same day.
According to the synopsis, the latest episodes promise to be Cunk's “most glamorous yet”, with a host of celebrity guests and industry insiders set to guide and educate her.
These include acclaimed action director Michael Bay, who is known for his love of explosive scenes in films like Transformers and Pearl Harbour, Sherlock and Doctor Strange actor Benedict Cumberbatch, and Project Hail Mary composer Daniel Pemberton.

From the invention of the camera through to the New Wave of the '60s, the creation of CGI and what the future holds with AI taking over the industry, Cunk is intending to see it all.
As the synopsis reads: “Cunk will attempt to demystify it all while sitting in lumpy seats with stale popcorn, asking herself where did cinema come from? And why? What does it want? And why can’t it tell us?”
Cunk on Cinema starts on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
