5 has released first-look images and confirmed further casting for All Creatures Great and Small season 7, ahead of the period drama's return to the Yorkshire Dales this September.
The latest instalment picks up in 1946, with the war behind them and "Skeldale House once again full – and livelier than ever – as familiar faces reunite under one roof and look ahead to a hopeful new chapter".
According to the official series description, "James is excited about new developments in veterinary medicine, but a new vet in the area (pictured above) threatens the status quo".
It continues: "The world at large may be changing, but inside this slice of Yorkshire, the Dales will always offer the same perfect escapism. Packed with warmth, humour and community spirit, the series brings more heartwarming tales of people and animals alike."
A host of familiar faces return to Darrowby, including Nicholas Ralph as James Herriot, Samuel West as Siegfried Farnon, Anna Madeley as Mrs Hall, Rachel Shenton as Helen Herriot and Callum Woodhouse as Tristan Farnon.
Also reprising their roles are Patricia Hodge as Mrs Pumphrey, alongside her cherished Pekingese Tricki, Tony Pitts as Helen's father Richard, Imogen Clawson as her sister Jenny, and local barmaid Maggie, played by Mollie Winnard.
They will be joined by Maimie McCoy, who returns as Dorothy, a friend of Mrs Hall's and Siegfried's love interest. McCoy first appeared in All Creatures's debut season, before returning in the 2026 Christmas special, where she shared a kiss with Siegfried.
"There's lots that connects them, which I think is really lovely," McCoy told Radio Times of their relationship,
Gaia Wise will also return as Charlotte, "society beauty" and Tristan's girlfriend. The pair professed their love for one another in the Christmas special, with Callum Woodhouse later suggesting that wedding bells could be on the cards.
But in another interview with Radio Times, he teased that all might not be well in season 7.
"It's not really a massive spoiler to say I’m still with Charlotte Beauvoir, who is really good for him and helps him with his mental health," he said.
"She keeps him happy and... I think he's a little bit more content. But there's only so long that that can last. So, things may be coming to change, but we don't know."
Shaking things up is Caolan McCarthy (Belfast, RSC's Cyrano de Bergerac), who plays the aforementioned rival vet, Granville Bennett.
McCarthy will be joined by a raft of new guest stars across six shiny new episodes.
Beyond season 7, you can also expect a Christmas special and season 8, details for which will be announced in due course.
All Creatures Great and Small seasons 1-6 are available to stream on 5, with season 7 coming soon.
