London alt-rock risers are the first band to perform in Battersea Power Station’s iconic glass Chimney Lift, in partnership with music discovery platform and as part of and The Original (Live) series.
The band are set to tour through the end of November, playing shows in Glasgow, Manchester and London. Fronted by alongside guitarist , bassist , and drummer , Villanelle played a live set from the chimney lift inside the Battersea Power Station. Rising 109m above London, the glass lift set the stage for a remarkable performance with 360-degree panoramic views across the city landscape. The band performed tracks including ‘Hinge’, ‘Squeeze’, ‘Some Chew Lip’ and ‘Placebo’, which CLASH described as brimming with “muscular distortion, guitar riffs and pulsating bass”, noting Gallagher’s vocals cutting through with a restlessness primed for live shows.
Villanelle’s performance marks the latest instalment of The Original (Live), a music series from adidas and JD that brings artists into distinctive settings to showcase their creative identity.
