are gearing up to take Japan and South America by storm this week as their worldwide tour continues. But between their radical onstage theatrics and genre-defying performances, CLASH caught a glimpse of the chaos that surrounds the duo and the devoted, feverish crowds eager to be swept up in it.
Ahead of an intimate performance with in Madrid, CLASH sat down with the Argentinian duo for an exclusive insight into their partnership with , first unveiled this past summer at TONES. We uncovered what makes the connections to their fans so unique and the creative chemistry that make Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso such an unpredictable act.
COLORSxStudio is known for stripping everything back to the music. How did performing in that intimate setting compare to connecting with fans in a live venue?
COLORS is an amazing platform. In the session they truly let us be free and perform at our best in a stripped-down scenario—that’s where the music and the performance really stand out. Live venues have the same vibe, but we feel hugged and kissed in real time by the audience. That live feedback from the fans really energises us.
As your audience continues to grow, have you noticed your relationship with your fans evolving? If so, in what ways?
Of course, the relationship with our fans evolves and changes all the time. Our audience keeps growing, and earlier in our career we used to bump into fans at bars or nightclubs, but now they wait outside our hotels or welcome us at the airport while on tour.Sometimes we miss the deep conversations we could have with fans at bars. Now there are more of them, so it’s difficult to have that same closeness, which is why we really love playing more intimate venues and feeling their love closer.
How do you balance staying authentic to yourselves while also meeting the expectations that come with a larger fanbase?
For us, those are two completely unrelated things. You’re born with your authenticity; it’s a choice you make to keep it. You’re definitely not born with a big fanbase or high expectations. At the end of the day, the fans and expectations might vanish, but who you are remains. So really, what other option do we have besides staying true to ourselves?
What drew you both to collaborate with Ballantine’s and COLORS, and how does this partnership reflect the way you want to connect with your audience?
What drew us in is how simple the whole concept is: strip away all the noise and just let the music speak. We don’t love big barriers between us and the fans, so partnering up on something that keeps the experience direct and real made total sense to us.
The Ballantine’s x COLORS collaboration celebrates creative expression and community. How do those values align with your own approach to making music and building relationships with fans?
Creative expression naturally builds community, so everything just aligns. We follow our gut on stage and in the studio, and thankfully, tons of people connect with that. This collaboration is about bringing a larger community together to share that exact same creative energy.
Have there been any memorable fan interactions that reminded you why creating intimate experiences is just as important as performing for large crowds?
Every time we play intimate spaces we treasure every single moment—it’s the most raw, direct feeling you can get.
An intimate show is like getting close to a fire when you’re cold. Playing arenas is like shooting off fireworks when your team wins the championship… sure, seeing your national team win the World Cup is huge, but nothing beats watching your best friends score goals on the neighborhood pitch.
Social media often encourages fans to consume moments quickly rather than experience them. How do you encourage fans to be present and connect with the music beyond what’s shared online?
Follow these simple steps:
1. Hold your phone tight.
2. Bring it up to shoulder level with your elbow bent.
3. Throw your arm forward as hard as you can and open your hand.
Congrats! Your phone is now flying off to parts unknown
Recap: Yeet your phone somewhere out of sight where you’ll completely lose track of it, that’s how you open yourself up to adventure and stay in the present moment. Tried, tested, and recommended.
(Disclaimer: Use a solid phone case so you don’t shatter your screen. These things are expensive!)
