There's a turbulent week ahead for the residents on the cobbles next week, as Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown) steps up her manipulations by gaslighting sister Shona Platt (Julia Goulding).
Elsewhere, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) gives those around him cause for concern following his secret diagnosis with breast cancer.
Debbie Webster's (Sue Devaney) dementia symptoms take another turn for the worse, while Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield) makes some comments that may ruin his father-son bond with Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall).
Love could be in the air for Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon), and it looks like the same could be said for Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) after a chance meeting with a newcomer.
Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) has concerns about stepdaughter Susie Price's (Aurora Bradshaw) ambitions, and Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) is nervous as she prepares to return to paramedic life.

8 Coronation Street spoilers for next week
1. Jodie Ramsey gaslights Shona Platt
A bleary-eyed Shona struggles with baby Harper, and Jodie reminds her that she promised Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) a cake for a school bake sale. Jodie claims she can't help due to a dentist appointment, and Shona is stressed enough when the smoke alarm goes off and she sees she's burnt the cake.
Jodie enjoys her sister's torment, and as Shona naps on the sofa, Jodie slips in. When David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) arrives home with Shona and Jodie's father Doug (Steve Evets), they're horrified to find the kitchen full of smoke and Shona fast sleep. David tries to wake Shona, and as the week continues, Shona is left feeling useless as David and Jodie insist she relaxes.
Shona fetches Harper for her bath, but conniving Jodie replaces the bath water with boiling hot water from the kettle. David yelps in pain when he tests the water, and he rails at Shona that she could have scalded their daughter. Shona can't apologise enough, while Jodie forms a plan when Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly-Rose Campbell) discusses her own postnatal depression.
The following day, David and Shona head for a romantic lunch, and Jodie criticises Shona's hair and outfit to dent her confidence. Arriving home, Shona hears Harper crying but finds the annexe door locked. David finds his wife worried sick, and an upset Shona goes for a walk.
Asha finds her and Harper in Victoria Garden, and is concerned to smell wine on Shona's breath. Soon Shona once again hears Harper's cries, only to go and fetch her and find the little one smiling and happy in David's arms. Shona is increasingly upset as she believes she must be hearing things, so David accompanies her to see the doctor.
With Shona napping, Jodie remarks to David that it must be hard being a carer and a single parent! David replies that it's just a blip, but will he and Shona cotton on to Jodie's vile scheme?
2. Kit Green's behaviour spirals amid breast cancer diagnosis
Kit brings a woman back to the flat, but when she goes in for a kiss he admits he's not in the right headspace. Bethany emerges just as the woman storms out, but how will she react? Later in the week, Kit has an appointment with the breast cancer consultant to discuss the next steps.
Kit is unable to deal with this and it starts to impact on his work as, at the station, Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) pressures Kit to find Luke Cookson's murderer and Kit snaps at her.
Lisa is concerned and shares the incident with Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove), while Kit chases after a young lad and, spoiling for a fight, accuses him of killing Luke.
Kit is later seen sporting two black eyes as he joins the family for pizza night, where Bernie is visibly worried for her son. Thinking it will help, Bernie tells Kit she's convinced her cancer gene test will result in the all-clear.
Will this prompt Kit to tell Bernie what he's going through?
3. Carl Webster worries for mum Debbie Webster
Carl (Jonathan Howard) is still struggling to find work, so Debbie suggests he should return to the hotel. Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) is quick to shut the idea down, but there are bigger concerns when Carl notices Debbie suffering another memory lapse.
Carl reminds Debbie that she was meant to be meeting Ronnie for dinner, and Debbie calls her husband and lies that she got delayed at work.
As it's clear that Debbie has forgotten their plans, Carl listens with worry for her.
4. Ross Wilkes offends son Tyrone Dobbs
Ross makes himself comfortable at the Dobbs' residence, and Tyrone makes a dig about the amount of time he's spending at the house. Ross is quick to change the subject, sharing a cock and bull story about UFOs.
In the Rovers, Tyrone tells the lads Ross's story, and when they begin to mock Ross, he masks his annoyance.
Ty tries to make amends by inviting Ross and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) for a meal at the Bistro with him and Fiz (Jennie McAlpine). Tyrone quizzes Ross about his past relationships, and Fiz has fun stirring as she reveals Tracy has been married four times.
But the occasion takes a turn when Ross is scathing about Richie Parkinson's (Nathan Sussex) claims he was abused by his wife. With Tyrone being a survivor of domestic abuse, this does not go down well, and Ross later tells Tracy he deeply regrets what he said.
Tracy advises him to apologise to Tyrone, so Ross pleads forgiveness for his crass comments. Will Tyrone accept his apology?
5. Sparks fly between Bethany Platt and Ryan Connor
Bethany visits Sarah in prison and masks her guilt as she breaks the news that Kit has moved on. Afterwards, Bethany opens up to Ryan (Ryan Prescott) about Kit seeing other women, just as Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) arrives in a celebratory mood having been promoted to assistant manager - Sarah's old job.
While Bethany can't change anything for her mum, she may have the chance to grab some happiness for herself, and she smiles as she gets a text from Ryan. Kit urges Bethany to go for it, pointing out it's obvious she and Ryan like each other.
Over drinks, Ryan entertains Bethany with funny stories. Will she make her move and tell him how she feels, or might Ryan get there first?
6. Summer Spellman gets an unexpected new love interest
In the café, a lad called Marco compliments Summer's drawing, but when she goes to the loo, Marco rips out the page of her notebook and leaves! Summer passes the tattoo shop and spots her drawing on display in the window. She confronts Marco outside the shop and accuses him of stealing her design, but Marco says it was just an excuse to see her again.
He adds that he'd like to buy her drawing and meet for a drink, and Summer agrees. But she confides in Asha and Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) that she's got some reservations about Marco.
Their meeting must go well, though, as she later updates the girls that she's made another date with Marco. Will this be a new beginning for Summer after so much heartache?
7. Ben Driscoll is dubious about Susie Price's big ambitions
Ben shows Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) and Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) a video of Susie singing and dancing that she's posted on the Rovers's website.
Ben reckons they should take down the video for safety reasons, but Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) compliments Susie's talents and suggests she should sign up for Little Big Shotz.
Glenda assures Susie she's a star in the making, but Ben thinks Glenda should be punished for encouraging Susie. Can Ben be persuaded that Susie's aspirations are a positive thing?
8. Asha Alahan prepares to return to work - and to Sienna Milburn's orbit
With Asha due to return to work as a trainee paramedic, she confides in Summer and Amy that she's nervous about this big step after her recovery from a mental health crisis.
The prospect of seeing colleague Sienna (Charlotte Tyree) is also on her mind, and the girls sympathise over their failed relationships.
But with Sienna having only called things off with Asha due to her struggles with caring for her mum, who has dementia, might Asha be able to show Sienna she can be there for her, leading to a second chance?
Or will the pair have to remain friends as they settle into working together again?
