ITV has confirmed when fans can expect the last chapter of the long-running ITV Up series to land - and there isn’t long to wait!
70 Up: The Final Chapter will land on Tuesday 15 September at 9pm on ITV1, and will become available to watch on ITVX before its scheduled slot.
The experimental documentary series, which has regularly been named the most influential show ever made, began in 1974 and has charted the lives of a group of people roughly every seven years from childhood through to adulthood.
Now, the new final chapter will follow the subjects as they approach old age.
It marks the first time the series will be made without longtime series director Michael Apted, who passed away in 2021.
Asif Kapadia, who's best known for documentaries on racing driver Ayrton Senna and singer Amy Winehouse, takes on directing duties.

Kapadia previously said of his appointment: "In 2014, I named the Up Series as my favourite documentary of all time. Who knew that two decades later I would have the incredible honour and privilege to be asked to direct 70 Up, the legendary documentary series."
He continued: "I love the show! I have watched it all my life, first as a child with my parents and siblings, growing up in east London and then as an adult."
