Kim is growing increasingly concerned that Joe is using alcohol to bury his grief. He then drunkenly attempts to drive away from Home Farm, but Thea steps in and refuses to let him leave.

Joe revs the engine in frustration, yet Thea stands her ground and eventually gets him safely back inside. Kim thanks the copper for showing him such patience, before turning her anger on him for coming dangerously close to making the same mistake as Vinny did.

Later, Joe remains determined to get his revenge and brings Sadie into his latest scheme. He wants her to spy on the Miligans and gather enough evidence to bring them down. She soon comes up with a risky plan of her own - believing she can seduce Caleb and drive a wedge between him and Ruby.

Joe warns her not to underestimate the strength of their relationship, but Sadie remains confident that she can get what she wants... especially since she's developed a friendship with Ruby. As the women bond over a drinking game, the atmosphere soon turns revealing as secrets begin to spill.

Cain grows suspicious when Sadie makes it clear that she intends to stick around, prompting him to warn Caleb that she could destroy his life. He isn't convinced, and reckons he's far too clever to fall into Sadie's trap.

Having missed her uncle Jimmy King's (Nick Miles) funeral following her hospital stay, Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) visits his grave and lays down flowers. Robert approaches her and suggests that she could begin making amends with Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) by proving herself through her actions rather than simply offering words.

Gabby soon gives her aunt a reason to listen when she reveals that she may have found a way to put things right between them. She plans to give Nicola money from the deal she's struck to sell The Hide to Robert.

When Gabby suddenly breaks into a coughing fit, step-mum Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) urges her to explain why she was recently in hospital. Nicola can't help but feel sympathy for her niece, helping to thaw the tension between them.
