The album follows last year's major label debut, , and the self-released, download-only EP from earlier this year.

“Warhorse”, the new single, has been performed live over the past few months. It follows “Sex”, released last week, and “Hurt”, from earlier in the summer. The tracks offer an early view of , which will continue 2hollis' amalgam of underground experimentation, vivid electronic production, and emotive pop writing.

The album’s hand-drawn artwork was created by Yoshitaka Amano, illustrator of the franchise. Amano said: “There is a delicate, sensitive quality to 2hollis that aligned perfectly with the image I had in mind for the artwork. He felt very close to the kind of character I have always drawn – as though he had stepped directly out of one of my paintings.”

2hollis has also teased upcoming collaborations with Playboi Carti and Ken Carson. Carson previously reworked the track “girl” into “shadeson”.
