1000 Rabbits Share Rapturous Single ‘Stupid Boy’

Art-pop quintet 1000 Rabbits have shared their new single, ‘Stupid Boy’, out via young.

1000 Rabbits comprises (violin/viola), (synthesiser), (guitar), (vocals) and (drums). The London-based band emphatically solidified their off-beat, post-rock potential with six-track EP, ‘Are We Friends Yet?’, memorialising their first two years in motion.

New single ‘Stupid Boy’ serves as a palette cleanser, showing the band in full creative synergy after a summer of festivals and touring. It’s a meandering number rounded by bass synthesizer, River’s theatrical vocal and a vivid tapestry of violin, guitar and drums which swells and soars as the track reaches crescendo.

They share:

“This summer we’ve had a wild time in Europe and the UK playing at festivals and touring our EP. The song became a space to experiment with lots of facets of our performance – singing all together, getting into the crowd, dancing and shouting: things we’d never done before but that the song demanded. It’s cathartic, and sharing that feeling with an audience and seeing it resonate has been magical. It’s one of our wildest, angriest, most cathartic experiments so far, and we are proud of its volatile constitution – it could explode at any moment.”

The accompanying video mirrors the song’s otherworldly melodies, following the band’s daily life through the lens of a fish tank and growing more abstract as the track builds towards its release.

Tune in now.
